hell-box cut of the month Cut of the month

Relief or letterpress printing is where a raised surface comes in direct contact with the paper. This vintage process, once the mainstay of printing, still remains viable for some of those unusual but important projects.

Letterpress allows you to:
Heat and apply metallic foils, mold paper to form embossing and debossing. You can also cut shapes, perforate, slit or score. Letterpress provides a tactile feel to the printed image.

Cuts are engraved pieces of vintage artwork from days gone by. We pulled a proof, scanned them in at 600 dpi and made them available for download!Download hi rez cut00.tif (5mb)

I admit, a few years ago we surrendered to the fact that there was no way we can keep up with all the changes going on with the printing industry. We would never have the latest greatest copier, full color printing press or Johnny-come-lately. And to make matters worse this whole internet thing was cutting into what needed to be printed. We took a step back to see what we could do, and we noticed all the interesting stuff designers are doing with letterpress. Letterpress? Using equipment that has been around for centuries?

We can do this! In fact, we have a pretty good arsenal, and have been doing this since day one. We are committed to becoming leaders in YESTERDAY'S technology, taking an old printing process and applying it to a new way of doing business. Now "Bob's your Uncle", here we are bringing you the very first issue of our digital newsletter the Tech Ledger.

"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds".

With all the battling for shipping supremacy between FedEx and UPS, we can't forget about our very own men (and women) on the street from the US Postal Service. What other service faithfully supplies you with a steady stream of monthly bills and junk mail while bringing you a smiling Mr. Zip along with the highly coveted Elvis stamp. Sure the cost of a first class stamp always seems to be rising, but have you checked for FedEx bill lately?
